Training
Training for high-consequence environments where decisions, systems, and people must hold up operationally, legally, politically, and publicly.
Training built for the floor, the council chamber, and the courtroom.
Public safety and mission-critical agencies already have access to skills training. What they do not have is training built for the environment agencies actually operate in: where calls are recorded, where decisions land in council meetings, where technology rollouts become political events, and where a bad outcome becomes a lawsuit.
Sentinel Institute is the training and certification arm of Sentinel Solutions Group. Every course is written by practitioners who have sat in the seat being trained, and every course is structured so the learner walks away with something operational, not just continuing education credit.
That means real artifacts: readiness assessments, role-based training matrices, RAID logs, decision trees, communications cadences, and governance checklists the agency can put into use the day they return. Training that leaves a mark.
Self-Paced Modules
Foundations, refreshers, and compliance topics delivered asynchronously with structured assessments and completion tracking.
Instructor-Led Cohorts
Scheduled virtual sessions with Sentinel practitioners for supervisor development, governance, and methodology training.
On-Site Delivery
Workshops, tabletop exercises, and executive sessions delivered at the agency, with full facilitation and artifact development.
Certification Program
Self-paced prework, live remote cohort, in-person capstone, and certification exam. Reserved for Sentinel Signature programs.
Seven schools, three tiers, one institution.
Sentinel Institute is organized into seven schools, each led by practitioners who built their careers inside the environments they now train. Courses are grouped into three tiers so agencies can build development paths by role and responsibility, not by category.
Communications Center School
The full arc for telecommunicators, supervisors, and center directors. Call control, radio discipline, QA, supervisor coaching, and center leadership.
Public Safety Technology School
Training for the IT professionals running systems that cannot go down. Uptime culture, change control, escalation design, and vendor accountability for mission-critical platforms.
Public Safety Leadership School
Non-tactical training for officers, fire, EMS, corrections, and supervisors. Decision quality under scrutiny, behavioral health response, documentation that defends, and the supervisory work that keeps departments out of headlines.
Sentinel Delivery Framework™ School
The certification track for Sentinel's program management methodology. Built for public-sector programs that must hold up under audit, council scrutiny, and multi-administration continuity.
Sentinel Readiness Method™ School
The certification track for Sentinel's organizational change management methodology. Built for dispatch floors, patrol briefings, fire stations, and EOCs, not corporate break rooms.
AI Governance School
Training for agencies adopting AI in dispatch, records, and analytics without losing the operational judgment that made them credible. Governance, vendor evaluation, human-in-the-loop design, and legal exposure.
Campus Safety School
Emergency planning, tabletop exercises, and relationship-based school resource officer training for K–12, districts, and higher education. Built with administrators in mind, not just police.
Three flagship programs built on Sentinel intellectual property.
These are the programs that define what Sentinel Institute does differently. Each ends with a certification and a set of operational tools the agency uses for years after the course closes. Available only from Sentinel.
For telecommunicators, dispatchers, CTOs, supervisors, and center directors.
The Recorded Professional
How to sound, decide, and document like the job is being reviewed in court, because it is.
A multi-module professional certificate track for communications professionals operating in a world where every call is recorded, every dispatch decision is discoverable, and every complaint eventually lands in front of a supervisor, an attorney, or a council member. Built from real case reviews and delivered by practitioners who have sat at the console and at the deposition table.
Covers call control under scrutiny, radio discipline, professional tone in crisis calls, documentation that defends good work, trauma-informed handling, and the supervisory review habits that catch small problems before they become litigation.
For program managers, project leads, owner's reps, and agency directors overseeing technology deployments.
Sentinel Delivery Framework™ Practitioner
Public-sector program delivery for politically visible, audit-sensitive, mission-critical work.
Sentinel Delivery Framework™ is the program management methodology Sentinel uses on every engagement. It is structured for the environment public safety programs actually live in: multi-administration timelines, inspector general reviews, council briefings, multi-vendor integrations, and go-lives that must succeed the first time.
This program teaches SDF™ discipline across milestone governance, risk registries, requirements traceability, vendor accountability, decision logging, testing governance, and closeout verification. Practitioners leave with a working SDF™ toolset and the ability to run a program defensibly start to finish.
For change management leads, project sponsors, training managers, and executive sponsors of technology rollouts.
Sentinel Readiness Method™ Practitioner
Change management for agencies where staff will use a system if it is rolled out right, and route around it if it is not.
Most change management training is written for corporate environments: open floor plans, single shift, neutral culture. Public safety is none of that. Sentinel Readiness Method™ is built for dispatch floors, patrol briefings, fire stations, and EOCs, where shift rotations, tenure, union realities, and operational tempo shape adoption.
Practitioners learn role-based readiness planning, operational communications cadence, super user network design, adoption measurement, and the resistance patterns specific to high-consequence operations. Every concept is grounded in real rollouts, including the ones that failed.
Two practices we deliver, but do not teach.
Of Sentinel’s four signature practices, two are offered as formal training through Sentinel Institute: SDF and SRM. The other two, Sentinel Deployment Blueprint and Sentinel Value Assurance, are practitioner-delivered engagements. Their execution requires expertise across business analysis, configuration authority, documentation authorship, vendor coordination, and evidentiary measurement that cannot be transferred through a classroom.
The agency’s professional voice inside the vendor’s deployment. Business process redesign, configuration authority, and the three permanent artifacts that transfer to agency ownership.

Post-deployment governance. Independent measurement of realized value, documented vendor accountability, and structured recourse when outcomes fall short.
Explore SVA →
Engaging SDB or SVA is not enrolling in a course. It is contracting with Sentinel practitioners to deliver the discipline on the agency’s side of the table.
Six courses open for enrollment.
Sentinel Institute is rolling out in waves. Wave 1 represents the courses we have the deepest bench to deliver and the clearest market gap to fill. Each is delivered by named Sentinel practitioners, not adjuncts or vendor reps. Additional courses and certifications follow in Wave 2 and Wave 3.
The Recorded Professional
Professional certificate for telecommunicators, dispatchers, and CTOs operating in a recorded, discoverable, and reviewable environment.
Introduction to the Sentinel Delivery Framework™
The foundation course for public-sector program management done the Sentinel way. Ends with a full SDF™ practitioner toolkit.
Introduction to the Sentinel Readiness Method™
Change management training built for public safety, not corporate environments. Ends with a full SRM™ practitioner toolkit ready for the next rollout.
AI in the Dispatch Center: Promise, Limits, and Risk
A practical governance course for PSAP leaders evaluating AI. What to automate, what to protect, and what to never allow AI to decide alone.
From Go-Live to Value: Making Technology Actually Work
Customer success training for the period most agencies ignore: the eighteen months after go-live, where adoption makes or breaks the investment.
Supervisor on the Floor: Coaching in Real Time
Supervisor development for communications center leaders. How to catch problems early, coach live, and build the kind of center people stay in.
Public Safety first. Additional industries underway.
Sentinel Institute is launching with Public Safety training, where the firm's bench is deepest and the market gaps are clearest. Curriculum for Healthcare, Government, Defense & Military, and Education is being scoped now and will publish alongside each industry rollout.
Training that leaves a mark.
Most conversations start with a short scoping call. Tell us what your agency needs trained, and we will tell you honestly whether Sentinel Institute is the right fit, or recommend someone better if we are not. Cohorts form quarterly. Custom on-site engagements year-round.
